This latest flat joins two duplexes in Khar’s Pali Hill that Gauri reportedly took on a three-year lease costing ₹8.67 crore. Collectively, the additional space ensures the Khans’ domestic staff remain close by while Mannat is refurbished.

Mannat Renovation Controversy

Renovation work on the iconic sea-facing bungalow—designated a Grade III heritage structure—drew legal scrutiny in March. Activist Santosh Daundkar petitioned the National Green Tribunal (NGT), alleging that Shah Rukh Khan and the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority progressed without required Coastal Regulation Zone clearances. The complaint also claimed plans to add two new floors and merge twelve 1-BHK flats (originally meant for mass housing) into one private residence.
